Project Overview
Absolute Fire Solution has been engaged as an independent passive fire consultant for the UNSW Health Translation Hub, a critical component of the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct. The project aims to establish a leading research facility that supports innovative health solutions, requiring rigorous compliance with fire safety standards.

SCOPE OF WORK
- Electrical Services: Fire-sealed the electrical service penetration with a passive fire protection system per AS1530.4 and 4072.1 to comply with NCC,AS1530.4 and AS4072.1 requirements.
- Mechanical Services: Collaborated with Fredon Air to inspect, certify fire dampers and install fire seal for mechanical systems. Provided guidance on passive fire protection systems that met relevant Australian Standards and NCC requirements, focusing on maintaining fire integrity across compartments.
- Plumbing Services: Worked alongside Central Plumbing Group to inspect fire collars and seals on plumbing penetrations. Ensured all fire collars complied with AS1530.4, providing detailed installation reports and photo documentation for accurate record-keeping.
- Provided consultation throughout the project, attending meetings and responding to Passive Fire-related inquiries.
- Prepared and submitted the Fire seal installation certificate, Passive Fire Register, installation report with photos, and marked-up drawings of all service penetrations.
Outcome
- Developed a comprehensive Passive Fire Protection matrix, incorporating fire resistance levels and specifications tailored to each service penetration.
- Provide penetrations fire seal in compliance with AS Standards and NCC requirements.
- Conducted regular site inspections, prepared third-party inspection certificates, and submitted marked-up drawings, reports, and registers to document compliance with AS Standards and NCC requirements.
- Provided ongoing support to Hansen Yuncken and subcontractors, addressing compliance inquiries and assisting in adapting fire protection systems to evolving project needs.
