Project Overview

Absolute Fire Solution was engaged by CPB Contractors to conduct fire sealing for existing services as part of the Nepean Hospital Pharmacy Redevelopment. The renovation required a strategic approach to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing hospital operations, while maintaining the highest standards of fire safety. Given the complex environment, particular emphasis was placed on achieving compliance efficiently and with minimal impact on hospital activities.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Conducted a thorough assessment of existing service penetrations to identify areas requiring fire sealing, taking into account the need to limit disruption in the hospital’s operational areas.
  •  Installed fire seals on existing services, focusing on maintaining compartmentalization to prevent fire spread in line with AS1530.4 and AS4072.1 standards.
  • Coordinated with CPB Contractors to implement fire seal solutions that adhered to NCC and Australian Standards while optimizing workflow efficiency.
  • Provided detailed reports, including a Passive Fire Register, installation certificates, and comprehensive documentation with photos and marked-up drawings, covering all fire-sealed penetrations.

Outcome

  • Successfully completed fire seal installations on existing services with minimal disruption to hospital operations, ensuring a balance of safety, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Fire sealing was executed according to AS Standards and NCC requirements, contributing to the ongoing safety and reliability of the redeveloped pharmacy facilities.
