HMAS Watson Bay and HMAS Garden Island Fire Seal Projects

HMAS Watson Bay (Star Electrical): 

• Engaged to fire seal penetrations for a new building on the base. This involved assessing existing conditions, identifying necessary fire-seal applications, and implementing solutions in compliance with Australian Standards.
• Coordinated closely with Star Electrical to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations at the facility.

HMAS Garden Island (Fredon Infrastructure):

• Conducted fire seal installations for a smaller project, focusing on ensuring all penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors were adequately sealed.
• Worked alongside Fredon Infrastructure to align with project timelines and security protocols.

Challenges

Access and Security:

• Both projects required compliance with strict security policies, necessitating thorough screening of personnel and materials before site entry.
• The military setting also limited access points and working hours, which required careful planning and coordination with base security teams.
