Absolute Fire Solution was engaged by multiple contractors, including FIP, AGC, Lendlease, BSA, and IBC Construction, to provide comprehensive fire sealing services for the Metro Martin Place North and South Towers and the associated station. As one of Sydney’s key infrastructure projects, the construction required stringent fire protection measures to ensure compliance and safety throughout the site.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Reviewed architectural and service penetration drawings to identify necessary locations for fire sealing, ensuring adherence to project-specific fire safety protocols.
  • Developed a customized fire matrix that included specifications for each fire seal, based on AS1530.4 and AS4072.1 requirements and the Fire Resistance Levels (FRLs) necessary for high-traffic commercial and transit facilities.
  • Installed fire seals across various service penetrations, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and NCC requirements for fire safety.
  • Responded to Passive Fire-related inquiries, providing solutions to challenges and meeting with stakeholders to address fire safety concerns.
  • Submitted comprehensive installation reports, Passive Fire Registers, and Fire Seal Installation Certificates, complete with photographic evidence and marked-up drawings.

Outcome

  • The project experienced a significant final push to meet deadlines, with Absolute Fire Solution demonstrating commitment and flexibility by working on both Saturdays and Sundays during the critical completion period.
  • Despite the tight schedule, Absolute Fire Solution completed the fire seal installations to the satisfaction of all clients, ensuring compliance with AS Standards and NCC requirements.
  • The collaborative approach with clients FIP, AGC, Lendlease, BSA, and IBC Construction ensured that all fire protection systems were successfully installed and certified, supporting the operational readiness of the Metro Martin Place towers and station.
